The Republicans recently voted to repeal the “Affordable Care Act.” They were all full of themselves, high fiving each other, slapping the backs of their compatriots. Meanwhile, down at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue:
Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, released a new study showing how families and businesses will actually SAVE MONEY in 2014 on their health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket costs. For example, it looks like every year a low-income family of four could save up to $14,900 and businesses will benefit from the savings and tax credits in the new law.
The report finds that, compared to what they would have paid without the law:
Middle-class families purchasing private insurance in the new State-based Health Insurance Exchanges could save as much as $2,300 per year in 2014;
Tax credits provided by the Act will lead to even greater savings. For example, in 2014, a family of four with an income of $33,525 could save as much as $14,900 per year since they will also qualify for tax credits and reduced cost sharing;
In 2014, small businesses could save an average of up to $350 per family policy and many may be eligible for tax credits of up to 50 percent of their premiums;
The tax credits are already available to small businesses, and cover 35 percent of their premiums. For example, a firm with 10 workers who earn an average of $20,000 annually could currently receive credits of $35,000 annually. These tax credits could save small businesses $6 billion in 2010 and 2011.
And the Republicans want to reverse this? What am I missing here?

Why is reducing the number of abortions a good thing? I thought it was a perfectly acceptable choice?

You may have a yeast infection that may or may not be a side efcfet of the pill. Is it itchy and have a faint odor? Did you tell the Dr. that you had a problem and that’s why you need to get in to see her? If this is the first time you have had one it is best to see the Dr. first just to confirm that it is yeast and not something more serious. There are over the counter meds, Monostat, Gynelotrimin, for this problem and also a single pill that the Dr. can prescribe. Call the Dr. back and tell the receptionist that you need to get in ASAP. They should make room for you. Good luck.
Very good point, Chris. Abortion is indeed an acceptable thing to me. What I meant to say was that reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies was the “good thing.”
Conservatism and smaller goevnrment does not mean zero laws. As prior blog posters have indicated, Conservatism does not mean anarchy and it is a Constitution issue. Furthermore and specific to the question about Abortion and Gay Marriage and their impact on smaller goevnrment (and the Left s claim of Conservative hypocrisy ) Conservatives would consider their views on Constitutionality to be representative of less goevnrment. If Abortion and Gay Marriage weren t on the books, then there would be less laws right?. These are issues created by the Left that don t pass the Constitution test. A concept the Left clearly only view as a guideline , written in pencil. So, if the Constitution was applied in the first place, there would be the smaller/less goevnrment Conservatives seek. But, the Left was / is given free reign for a period of time, or in specific spots / States, and created new laws. Interpreting the Constitution the way they want to. To counter and fight unconstitutional lawlessness by the Left and their judicial activism / legislation from the bench, Conservatives have to get involved to block (even just the expansion of the Left s agenda) and now are called big goevnrment hypocrites by the Left for doing so. It is all a game of power, access, control and more importantly who gets to (RE)write the Constitution. The desire and need of the Left. Constitutionality of any issue / argument regardless should be the mission of the Conservative. Anything not in the Constitution becomes a State issue. Core to Conservative opposition to Abortion / Roe v. Wade in the first place. This is the answer to the question. But, that isn t the real and only point of the question now is it? The purpose of the questions seems to be to engage the social issues the Left attempts to use to expose Conservative division and hypocrisy . Fine. But, disagreements on social issues does not mean hypocrisy. The left has just as many issues to reconcile. School Choice comes to mind. Israel and the Jewish population is another. And, I can go on and on. But, the Left only focuses on Abortion and Gay Marriage with regards to the Conservative? Disagreements on social issues go back prior to 1776. And, it is a good thing and it supports individuality, independence and Free Will. William Bradford and the early settlers in Plymouth had to deal with their version of Socialism / Collectivism (Conservatism and Capitalism won by the way a concept not taught in the schools and another Lefty hypocrisy ?) Well if your parents are suprtpoing you then I think you could make it. It will not be easy, but you could do it.they could watch the baby for you while you study and your boyfriend could help you too. I am in a similar siuation. I was 18 when I had my daughter, now I am 21 and 38 weeks pregnant with another baby. I had to take a break from the fall semester( I plan to do nursing too) but I’m starting in January again. The only difference is that I don’t have any family here to help me and my husband works all day so I don’t have much help. I think that if I can do it you could do it too. Its your decision only you know what is the best for you but I just wanted to share my situation with you so you would know than it has happened to others too. if you choose to keep your baby you could apply for financial aid and also WIC program that would help you to pay for your school and babys milk and some other stuff. kids are a lot of work but they also are the greatest joy a person can have.good luck
